Like most fighting game fans, I love me some MARVEL VS. CAPCOM. Not only is the premise ludicrous to the point of brilliance, but the way they reimagine Marvel (and non-fighting Capcom) characters as fighting game combatants is always fun to see. And it’s a great way to solve the “who would win, Ryu or Captain America” debates that used to rage across the world and tear families apart. E3 is still going strong and new gameplay footage has come out for the anticipated fighting game!

You knew one day it would come. Somewhere down the road once the PS4 was no longer an unproven system and Sony was well into creating a new catalog, the previous system would finally cease to be. Today is that day as the PS3 has officially stopped production in Japan.
The announcement was made on the Japanese PlayStation site saying that no new units will be manufactured, so any currently being made in the United States will soon follow. Sony said it would support the console for ten years as it was being released back in 2006, and it appears they kept that promise, despite the Xbox 360 (it’s leading competitor at the time) stopped being made back in April 2016. The system has sold over 80 million units to date and remains one of the most popular gaming systems ever made, even though it can’t compare in numbers to the total sold for the PS2 (155 million) in its heyday.

The first teaser for Adi Shakar’s animated adaptation of the Castlevania video game series has debuted over at Netflix’s LATAM channel, and it promises a stylish, and gory take on the material.
It’s brief, but we do get a pretty good idea of the animation style and there are glimpses of a few bloody vampire kills in there, too.
Shankar has previously teased a “dark, satirical” adaptation that would “flip the vampire sub-genre on its head,” and more recently he promised us the “western world’s first good video game adaptation.” That remains to be seen of course, but with talent like Warren Ellis and Adventure Time’s Kevin Kolde involved, it should be well worth a look at the least.
Billed as “Castlevania Season 1, Part 1,” four, 30-minute episodes are set for a July 7 premiere.
